The Middle East is a region where automobile is king and fuel is cheap, frequently leaving little incentive to find more environmentally-friendly methods of moving around.

But this year, as demonstrations across the Middle East have pressed up the rate of oil, the issue of finding alternative sources of fuel has come into sharp focus.

In an area that has among the highest carbon footprints on the planet, one business is making the most of the growing pressure to find options to oil. It's established the Middle East's very first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's too, currently their client-list contains McDonald's.
